USDA Foreign Agricultural Service Student Summer Internship Program

The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) is currently accepting applications for our Summer Internship Program. The mission of this agency is to promote agricultural products overseas. In order to best carry out our mission we are looking for business, economics, finance, and marketing students. This is a paid internship based in Washington DC and housing is also provided which are very attractive features. Unfortunately, students would be responsible for their travel expenses. The application process is relatively easy. In order to apply students must provide their resume or optional form 612 and transcripts. If students submit their resume they should check it against the optional form 612 and update any information that is asked on the 612 and may be missing on their resume. A cover letter is optional, however managers do find it very useful when assessing candidates. I also think that students with cover letters look more attractive and apart from those who do not submit cover letters. Here is the link for the Summer brochure: http://www.usda.gov/da/employ/2005INTROS.htm This is the link to the announcements with deadlines: http://www.usda.gov/da/employ/sipvac.htm The optional form 612 can be accessed at: http://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/of612.pdf
