    In the spring of 1995, Stephen and Phillip Blanchett discovered a new gospel sound from the traditional Alaska Native songs they were singing. The brothers, of Yup’ik Eskimo and African American decent, immediately arranged a five minute repertoire to show their father. Gaining encouragement from their parents and many other friends and relatives the brothers continued to share their new sound.
