This consortium of Alaska Native non-profits and other interested organizations (CANHE) was founded in 1997 to form a network of tribally controlled community colleges in Alaska. The central goal is to improve the higher education attainment of Alaska Natives and to provide services to the new tribal colleges. The Consortium has regular quarterly meetings fostering collaboration and seeking funding for group projects. The consortium is presently gathering data on Alaska Native eduction attainment to compile a web accessable databank of this information.
